The Diary of Emily: How the World Fell

In the beginning we had it all, lights, food, and heat when it was cold. My biggest worry was ignoring the noise from the coal mine just up from our house. Then greed caused a death. A momentary decision, a lie, brings one man to his knees. Then his family, and then the world. That death would spread like the waves in a disturbed pond, throughout our town, throughout our world. When will it stop? How far can it possibly go?

This is my diary, the diary of how it all started to fall, of how the world ended, not with a bang, not with a blast, but with the discovery of a single bone. With her words Emily reveals to us the final days of a small town in West Virginia and the last whimpers of the world. Are there any immune to it? Will there be anyone left to rebuild humanity?
