Description
THIS BOOK is based on a presentation given to a regional sales recognition meeting for Nationwide Financial. The standing ovation that followed and the many positive comments confirmed that a written version would be helpful. However, taking a live presentation and converting it to a book, even a brief one, is much more difficult than you may think it to be. Tones, nuances, and pauses are sometimes lost in translation. So I have taken the liberty to reorganize, add, and reword some of the passages for the printed page, believing that the book will have the longevity that far exceeds a presentation. It was a speech before it was a book, and it reflects the specific request of the meeting planner to present my own story of sales success as it related to everyone in attendance and, now, to you. It also contains some attempts at humor, illustrations and stories that are “based” on reality, but not on the actual history of my home state or the lives of anyone other than the author.
A CD copy of the actual live presentation is available at www.5pointedcompass.com.
As a sales manager, office manager, national and global sales director, I was always looking for helpful books I could share with my staff. Perhaps this will become one of those helpful books to offer to others. My hope is that The 5-Pointed Compass will guide your way just as it is guiding mine.
Although it’s my story, it is also your story. You are writing it now.
