Asking the midwife which of the children was firstborn, and then ordering her out and locking the door, Sebastian Miller walked over to the child and looked down, before gently lifting him out of the cot. The younger brother, ignored in a makeshift cot of his own, started screaming immediately as his twin looked up into the eyes of the creature holding him.
“You will be strong, young David. And one day…”
His lips parted, and two small, very sharp teeth protruded from his upper row, as he bit down into his tongue, holding the child carefully as the blood swelled out. He allowed the blood to fall from his lips, into the open mouth of the child, who swallowed it hungrily.
“One day you will change the world, my son.”
