Jori and Elkanah had been thieves since they were small children, thanks to the mentoring of Jori’s one-eyed, career-criminal father Patch. For years Emoonah, Elkanah’s longsuffering mother had tried to change their ways even after her health failed. Even Jamal, the Persian Magi she loves, was unable to sway their path.
