The Will To Be Free is a book about the mass incarceration crisis in the State of California. The book is a memoir of serving prison time at the height of mandatory minimums and the Three Strikes Law. The disproportionate rate of African Americans incarcerated in prison is the focal point, however it shares quite a bit poetry and history. This book gives the reader an inside look at the prison industrial complex. It also puts a face, heart and mind to the incarcerated men and women across the United States of America.
