Buttercup Meets Cain (Shad Cain Book 5)

It was supposed to be a simple supply run for Shadrac Cain. The new town would save him at least ten miles each way. The prices were a little higher but reasonable, and the town marshal was a friendly sort. Unfortunately, all the citizens were not so easy to get along with. Trouble was only a bad attitude away. When an old timer laughed at the trouble makers problems, he was later filled with lead and would have died without help from an unexpected quarter.
When Cain learned of it, went back to take care of the old man and settle the score. He learned there were more than a few bad apples running the town. After his second trip, he was tagged for an example. Shad Cain has always been a bad example.
Cain wasn’t a man to seek trouble, but when it came, it wouldn’t be over until he said it was over… and he wouldn’t say it was over until he was sure it was.
