Friday Night Fever (That Seventies Series Book 1) / Andrene Low

A satirical look at dating in the late seventies, or proof it’s never a good idea to get hammered when you’re on the pull? You be the judge.

Samantha’s life is seemingly perfect until she finds out her boss wants to shag her and her boyfriend’s shagging someone else. Fleeing to Melbourne, Australia before her revenge can bite her on the arse; Sam’s enjoying singledom when she runs into a macho Italian with a penchant for garlic.

Only when she’s sober does she also find out he calls his appendage after a popular luncheon meat and would be a shoo-in for a bit-part on Planet of the Apes. Add to this a nasty habit of stalking, and Sam’s love-live is once again in tatters.

Friday Night Fever is a laugh-out-loud, feel good novel about girlfriends sticking together when it comes to taking out the 'trash'. Not an easy task when you’re teetering around in platforms the size of family blocks of cheese.

Friday Night Fever is risqué British humour with a unique Australian spin, and chock full of disco, booze and bad behaviour.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING:

The best sign of any book is that need to keep turning the page - or clicking it - until the end, and that's exactly what this book had me doing. The characters were spot-on, the scenarios were hilarious (and a little naughty in places!) and I just had to know what happened next. All in a richly-described setting that had those '70s memories flooding back. 5-STARS

What a fun read! The story is unique, and the characters are super likeable. I would have enjoyed hanging out with these ladies in the seventies! The inclusion of dogs and their owners adds to the fun. Sam's romantic storyline is satisfying, and there are plenty of laughs along the way. I'm looking forward to reading more from Andrene Low. 5-STARS

It’s so refreshing to read a story that hasn't been written continuously before. It's about friends, alcohol and relationships. True chick lit with comedy. A great read. 4-STARS

An amusing, entertaining read. I would have given it 5 stars if it hadn't ended so suddenly. I was expecting more so was left wondering what happened next. But then I found book 2. I have read this twice now, and salami boy still makes me laugh out loud. 4-STARS
