The New India Penal Code

I had been a law student, and had been in Government Service for thirty years. I am now retired and fighting a property dispute case in Bihar. I had even been to jail, and seen the conditions of prisoners over there. The Indian Penal is archaic and based on facts of 1860 AD. In my opinion only murder due to conspiracy is the most serious offence, that too to kill a good person. Killing a bad person with conspiracy is not a crime at all. Now in modern day, like lynching of beef-eaters to death attracts life-sentence, which should be normally five year. Threatening someone attracts a jail sentence of three years, which is too much. Raping a girl in party in lurching libido attracts jail sentence of 10 years, which is too much.
