Thru the Eyes of a Child, the Story of Pauline F.: Sharing my vivid memories as a 3 year old surviving WWII

My story is full of action, drama and humor. In fact it is surprising that I am alive today. Imagine a Stuka, (Sturzkampfflugzeug) vertical dive bomber upon a bunch of children, opening machine gun fire in an effort to kill. Experiencing this type of attack was not uncommon for the mothers and children in Germany during World War II. I recall many events, where my brothers and I were shot at. We knew how to take cover, or running down embankments to hide out and hope we wouldn’t get hit. We laid flat on our bellies and did not move, just like our mother had instructed us. Among other adventures, one time, we found bones of an aborted baby in the woods during one of our evacuations from our home town. Later we discovered that the bones belonged to a dead baby born to a Polish woman.
