The Women and the Boatman: A Tale of Predynastic Egypt

Third in a series about Predynastic Egypt, following Daughter of the Falcon God (5453-5439 BC) and The Potter (4009-3997 BC). Set between 3456 and 3436 BC, The Women and the Boatman is the story of the boat builder Nykara and the women he loves as they embrace a quest to unify the entire Nile Valley, a quest hindered by Ma’ee as he transforms himself from ruler of Nekhen into the valley’s first regional king. Together, they trod a path that leads a millennium later to the greatest and longest lasting civilization in the ancient world.
