One solution to the problem is the "living aureole" concept. Within the aureole, the living bodies of the disenfranchised are warehoused and maintained through a method of no-cost automation. Aureole system residents agree to allow their brains to be augmented with hardware, which in turn enables them to be immersed in a network of rich and wondrous virtual worlds. Advertised as a Utopian life of abundance and the next step in human evolution, it sounds almost too good to be true. This is the story of one family's experience.
