My name is Ally Bradshaw. Some of you might read this and think I’m arrogant, self-absorbed, starved and crazed and even a little heartless. I’m not. Not really. I am the woman that you pass on the street in broad daylight, and don’t look twice at.

My story begins on the day of my divorce from Michael, the man I married almost twelve years ago when I was a bright-eyed, bushy-tailed 19-year-old fresh out of school teenager. Back then, I believed in love, fairy tales and all the happily ever-afters I used to hear so much about.
Michael was never particularly attractive, but he was my first love and the man who eased me out of virginity on our wedding night. Yes. I waited. At his insistence. I thought we had a good life, but sex never really appealed to me. It was always rushed. Selfish. Unpleasant. Cold. Intimacy made no sense to me. What was lust? What was reaching the so-called peak? I thought that it was more to please him, than me.
I grew up a good girl, from a good home, with parents who was sure they raised an exemplary daughter. And I was. All of that. I was quiet. Obedient. Dutiful.

Then one day, I caught Michael in our bed with my best friend, Lily. Much to my parents’ disapproval, I left and filed for divorce. I was hungry for life. I was feeling trapped in my marriage.
