Fitzwilliam Darcy is no bleeding heart, but he cannot stand by when he learns of a friend’s plans to target a newcomer to London society. Miss Elizabeth Bennet has inherited a fortune—and by doing so, has made herself a target of every lazy young man in town.

But Miss Elizabeth is not the foolish country lady she has been made out to be and far from being appreciative of Darcy’s intervention, she seems to despise him.
