Please note that the rest of the Sunnyvale series takes place after Isa wakes up in the hospital at the end of The Year of Second Chances (Sunnyvale Series, Book 3). The Year of Kai & Isa is book 4 in a SERIALIZED YA contemporary romance mystery series and is approximately 26,000 words or 135 print pages.

Isa thought after Kai carried her away from that fire, everything would finally be okay. But then she hears the news that Lynn and her father escaped. Now, while she waits to hear when her mother will be released from jail, she also has to constantly worry if Lynn will come after her again. Luckily she has her Grandma Stephy and Kai.
