Description

From the book's Preface: "Nearly ten years ago this book began as do all books as an idea. The idea was that planned intervention in human systems should be based on scientifically verified principles of behavior change. The behavior to be changed should be empirically defined, and characteristics of the behavior should be accurately measured over a period of time. Also, the procedures used to change behavior should be described in such a way that they are replicable by others. Principles such as these, rather than allegiance to any particular theory, should guide the growth of behavior change as a discipline. These principles are frequently mentioned and discussed throughout the book."
