Fundamental Immunology

This text introduces the reader to various aspects of immunology through discussions incorporating both traditional topics in immunology and background information for the relatively uninitiated. In particular, Section 1 (Introduction) provides a general orientation to immunology. Certain concepts and the major effectors of immune responses are introduced and later, more detailed, discussions anticipated. Section 2 (Essentials of Immunological Expression) then presents the central aspects of humoral and cellular immune responses, both nonspecific and specific. Finally, Section 3 (Immunity and Disease) and Section 4 (Ontogeny and Phylogeny of Immunity), explore special topics in immunology.
