Surveying for Construction

While maintaining directness and clarity - successful features of earlier editions - this new fourth edition of Surveying for Construction has been completely revised and rewritten to take account of recent developments in surveying instrumentation and computing techniques. In response to numerous requests, the chapter on setting out has been greatly amended and enlarged, and a completely new chapter, on radial positioning and use of mapping systems, has been added. The increasing use of computers in surveying is reflected in a greatly enhanced chapter on computer programs and spreadsheet applications. With the advances in surveying technology, many traditional surveying methods have been rendered obsolete. All such references have been removed, leaving a thoroughly modern textbook, to satisfy the requirements of today's students on BTEC and Scotvec National/GNVQ courses, BTEC and Scotvec Higher National Level, and HND and degree courses in surveying, land surveying, the built environment and civil engineering.
