System Operation is a completely new work not previously published in earlier editions of Modern Power Station Practice. The use of a power system's generation and transmission plant can, however, have a profound effect on the overall cost and reliability of supply, regardless of quality of planning, design and construction. Topics covered here include an overview of the task of system operation, descriptions of the whole range of the work, the facilities used and staff aspects.
