Continuum Mechanics

The book evolved from a series of lectures to graduate students. Part 1 (of the book) contains basic topics such as mathematical preliminaries, stress, strain, elastic solids and Newtonian fluids. Part 2 is Applied topics, including flexural continua (such and shells and plates), inelastic solids and non-Newtonian fluids. Materials covered in this book will provide the average engineer with the information considered most basic to the solution of engineering problems involving solids, liquids and gases.
