Microprocessor Architecture and Microprogramming: A State Machine Approach

This text explores the principles by which microprocessors actually operate, rather than how a specific processor is used. Adopting an inductive approach, it surveys the technology involved with state machine design, and illustrates the concept of micro-programming a state machine by application in a simple computer CPU. This work should be useful for courses in microprocessor architecture found in departments of computer engineering technology, computer engineering or computer science.
