Parables for the 21st Century by Gautam Bhatia. A whacky take-off on Vishnu Sharma's Punchatanatra. Inspired by James Finn Garner's Politically Correct Bedtime Stories the author takes the men, women and animals of the Panchatanatra and relocates them in contemporary India with its newly acquired notions of political correctness. As these characters engage with the burning issues of the day - unemployment, oppression, environmental pollution, sexual incompatibility - the lay bare the hilarious abusurdities of our muddled world.
