Oxford Student's Dictionary of American English

This dictionary is aimed at intermediate students who need to extend their vocabulary and develop their reference skills. This second edition has been revised and updated in line with the view of an ELT dictionary as a learning tool and an aid to writing and speaking as well as comprehension. The work contains many new itmes, such as "bank card", "digitize" and "polyunsaturated". Existing definitions have been improved where necessary and the number of example phrases and sentences has been increased. There are notes on grammar and usage and other notes help to build the student's vocabulary by comparing related words and alternative expressions. Grammatical terms are explained.
