Gender and Sovereignty: Feminism, the State and International Relations

In Gender and Sovereignty John Hoffman seeks to reconstruct the notion of sovereignty for a post-patriarchal world. His interest in gender arised out of an interest in emancipation, and Hoffman argues that the emancipation of women is only possible if we find a way of providing a coherent critique of the state.
