General Norman Schwartzkopf has done much to bridge the gap between America's military establishment and the general public that was the legacy of the wars in Vietnam and elsewhere. Drawing on interviews with Schwartzkopf's family, friends and colleagues, as well as conversations with the General himself, this book provides an account of his life, from childhood in New Jersey and Iran, through student days, military training, Vietnam and Grenada, to his leadership of the Allied forces in the Gulf War.
