This is the 34th volume of the Amsterdam' Erasmi Opera Omnia (ASD): the first volume of the two Chiliade of the Adagia, the Adagia 1001-1500 (=ASD II,3), edited by Professor Dr. M. Szymanski.
The Adagia compose the two 'ordo' in the canon of scripts of Erasmus.
The arrangement of the 'ordines' was compiled by Erasmus himself in his letters written to Botzheim and Boece to publish his work.
A selected committee was composed to publish the Adagia, conducted by Professor Dr. F. Heinimann. With the publication of this volume, the 4151 Adagia comprehended work, existing of 8 volumes is completed.
