Although written to accompany the author's "Basic Concepts of Chemistry", this laboratory manual can be used in conjunction with any introductory chemistry text. It takes an exploratory approach that encourages students to discover concepts as they experiment. The basic laboratory techniques are presented, including observation, melting point determination, recrystallization, filtering, chromatography, distillation, titration and spectroscopy.
