Fundamentals of Building Construction: Materials and Methods

Designed for an introductory survey course in building construction, this text deals with the common materials of building and the methods by which they are incorporated into buildings. Written by a former MIT architectural member, it features clear, direct writing and simple, local organization based on the well-known CSI format. The book covers all of the most common construction systems and materials, including light wood frame, masonry bearing wall, steel frame, and reinforced concrete. Included are over 400 line drawings and 300 photographs.
