Description ▲
Experiments in Physics is for a calculus-based, introductory physics course. It consists of an introduction followed by thirty-two experiments. The experiments follow the order of topics in traditional texts: mechanics, heat, electricity, magnetism, optics and modern physics. Each experiment is divided into four major sections: APPARATUS: A List of equipment; INTRODUCTION: A partial development of the appropriate theoretical concepts; OUTCOMES: A list of the primary objectives; EXPERIMENT: Directions for the experimental procedure with questions included. Many of the experiments have optional parts which consist of measurements, qualitative observations, and/or calculations. The introduction contains six sections: objectives of the physics laboratory; laboratory notebook; error analysis; significant figures; graphical analysis; responsibility of the experimentalist.
