While the manual suggests ways to use Maple to enhance your understanding of statics and teach you efficient computational skills, you should feel free to browse the Maple manual and create your own methods for solving statics problems and for using Maple. As a consequence, the input and output for formats presented in this manual are consistent with actual Maple input and output. Explanations are provided for the generation of symbols and operators that do not appear on the standard keyboard. Any input that is executed remains in memory and can be used for future calculations. This Maple manual consists of 11 chapters. The first chapter is a general introduction to Maple that concludes with a sample application and can be studied while reading the first chapter of the accompanying Statics text.
