Basic Mathematics

This book is intended for a one-term course in Basic Mathematics or Arithmetic usually found at community colleges. Retaining the format and style of previous editions, this revision has been updated to provide an updated approach to arithmetic concepts. Diagrams, charts, and graphs are emphasized to give students additional information, in visual form, to help them understand the material covered. Each chapter opens with a real-world application. Wherever possible these introductions are expanded in the chapter and carried through to topics found later in the book.
