Manufacturing Facilities: Location, Planning and Design

Providing all the information and analytical tools necessary to convert a product design into production plans, this text describes the planning techniques needed to build an efficient manufacturing facility, which will make production feasible. The theoretical content and mathematical complexity of the book is kept to a minimum, the emphasis being more applied. Design is stressed by including end-of-chapter exercises which require independent analysis and creativity. Additional features include economic discussion and justification throughout, and topics such as computer integrated manufacturing, location analysis and the manufacturing process. With access to computers now common, the use of computers in the synthesis is discussed in the main text, with hard copy printouts of all computer programs mentioned therein, contained in the Instructor's Manual.
