Mechanical Vibration Analysis and Computation

The present handbook is written as a companion volume to the author's "Random Vibrations and Spectral Analysis". It is designed for senior undergraduates in mechanical engineering and the applied sciences and as a reference handbook for professionals in the industry who require vibration calculations. The two books are cross referenced and together aim to cover the entire field of mechanical vibration analysis, including random and nonlinear vibrations and digital data analysis. Although the subject is mathematical and this volume includes a considerable amount of matrix analysis, the emphasis is on practical applications of the theory in computation, rather than on rigorous proofs of theoretical results. The book includes a set of chosen problems intended to illustrate the theoretical ideas and methods explained in each chapter.
