While her father tries to understand the scientific reason for the flashing lights, Angie meets Zeke Goldenbough, an ancient Durongo Indian mystic. He enthralls her with strange tales, teaches her the language of his tribe, and shares his people’s legends. But Zeke also tells Angie about the lights. According to Durongo Indian legend, the flashing lights are a doorway to the spirit world, and one day a princess will emerge from them to live among the Durongo people.
Angie loves her time with Zeke, but unbeknownst to her, the old Indian is preparing her for a journey, one that will take her back in time to 1840s California and the people of the Durongo nation. Angie discovers that her actions hold serious consequences, including the power to change the future.
