Agnes had always been a reliable, skilled programmer until she met Alexandra online through AlterEgo.com. Alex, the opposite of all things Agnes, changed everything. The two became the best of virtual friends, never meeting but constantly in touch through the ubiquity of the internet. And then, this morning, it came. Alex's last email. "It's about Scott. I think he's trying to kill me."
