This book was written to provide a glimpse into what America thought during the primary election process of 2008, and to connect us to our common threads of struggle throughout history. Many stories were contributed via the internet and email, depicting raw emotions where a number of Americans were cloaked in disbelief, hysteria, delight, and confusion ... Some felt that the buzz surrounding a man of color who dared to believe he could lead the Free World was a change worth supporting. Certainly the approach was classic; to most his campaign was without substance a societal thought reinforced by his overuse of the one line mantras, Yes we can... and, It s time for change - but history will perpetuate anyway that he received the Democratic nomination and was supported heavily by White America (as was first demonstrated by overwhelming support in Springfield, and then Iowa).
