Shattered Colors

In the summer of 1976, 12-year-old Bree Grant’s world is turned upside down by the murder of a young girl found strangled on her school playground. The only girl in the school’s gifted program, Bree, has a secret gift of seeing the colors, or auras, surrounding each person she meets. She believes they are a person’s true colors—the reality of who they are. Coping with her mother’s instability and frightened by her father’s unpredictable moods, she sets out to solve the murder as a way to avenge Rachel Carter’s death and gain her father’s acceptance. In her quest for truth, Bree’s fear grows as she soon suspects the killer may be closer to her than she ever imagined.
