Wayne Gretzky said "I skate to where the puck is going to be, not where it has been". These novels are skating to where they are going to build the arena. 
Skating to a new world, complex and dangerous, which opens up and pulls you in.  A dark and dangerous world, riding under the skin of daily life, under the smiles and pretty balloons that cover nasty reality from our eyes. When the balloons pop, life comes out with teeth bared. 
As you fall into the abyss: different people, different places, the whirlpool swirling stronger,  as the darkness under our daily lives grows, as the shadows loom larger, as the pretty pictures we are taught to believe in start to fade and the light fades. 
"Why is embracing life so dangerous, so harsh, that to embrace it you must be driven completely out of your bounded life? Why, when you can live pleasantly, thoughtlessly, the life of a flower in the sun? But once you move past the empty life of the flower, the full embrace of life is a terrifying step. It is a world that is coming fast, a world far outside the stories you are taught. Our world today is top heavy with pretense and stupidity, all smoke and mirrors and glitter covering the emptiness. Mocking substance, exulting the surface: but that world cannot last. 
If you dare, let me tell you a story of your future. 
What kind of books are these? Books that embrace the oneness of the world within the Tree of Life, but not the small human stories we are taught outside the Tree; books that will take you on a journey never dreamed of, and certainly one prohibited by the authorities.

* chaos in the Saudi Arabian oil fields after the Religious Estacy drug destroys the processing facilities;
* the destruction of Cairo in the War of the Tree; 
* and redemption in the wastelands of Detroit.
Then, there is the Apocalypse.  Those who can open to the life and experiences of another creature survive; those who are limited to the small human stories:  'Menschen über alles!' (roughly, 'man over all'),  wither and die. It is the End of Days, Armageddon.

An Ancient War over the Purpose of Life.
