A Little Mormon Girl

In this memoir, a little girl grows up in a strict Mormon household in the idyllic "perfect" town of Boulder City, Nevada--a town created and run by the US Federal government as a model city. She is the third child of four. Her mother is cold and punishing, and her sisters resent the interloper she is to them. The only warmth in the family is her flawed, yet charming father, who becomes one of the town's leading citizens. He is a child sexual abuser, and his actions affect every member of her family, and generation after generation that follows. This is the story of her flight to freedom and a new understanding of the world--from an oppressive, anti-female religion, a cold, punishing mother, and the horror of her father's advances.
