Peaceful life in a corner of rural England is shattered when a small village becomes the focus of a major art crime investigation. An art thief loses control of his car, the trunk flies open and valuable artwork is strewn across a quiet country road. Three locals discover the paintings. They know they should hand them over to the authorities, but they each have a motive to help the art thief and capitalize on their unexpected windfall. In this humorous, heartwarming tale of naïvety, deceit and greed, an endearing set of characters haphazardly work together to dodge Scotland Yard, the local police, and a zealous American art collector who will stop at nothing to get his hands on the artwork.
