Description ▲
It is during one of the typical South African thunderstorms, that John, a Johannesburg-based Chartered Accountant receives an unexpected visitor. Xola smells of dusty roads, is approximately seventy years old, and has travelled a lengthy distance from the Omaruru Children’s Orphanage in Namibia. His request is to commence a search for Rainbow, one of the orphanage’s children, who has disappeared. Fully aware that he is not a detective and having to deal with a tortured past, John is at first reluctant to accept the challenge. Despite his hesitation, Xola’s presence has awakened an unquenchable thirst for happiness and the key is the child Rainbow. Through a twist of fate, an unlikely team of hostile friends carry the burden of searching for this virtuous boy. Their emotional and physical journey on the heels of this child, leads them to Namibia and Peru and to the doors of friendship, forgiveness and destiny. They discover how a child from an orphanage has breathed with a purpose which will change the world, and bring the two countries, Namibia and South Africa, to their knees.
