Russell T. Montfort was raised on a tobacco and dairy farm near La Grange, Kentucky. His education began at a three-room rural schoolhouse, continued at Kentucky Wesleyan College and Duke University, and culminated in 42 years of ministry in The United Methodist Church. He is currently retired and living in Charlotte, North Carolina. His previous book Who's in Charge Here? is also published by Abingdon Press.
