Handpoke Tattoo: 23 Artists' Words and Ink

23 professional tattoo artists rediscover the tattoo without the tattoo machine. From Polynesian hand-tap to Japanese tebori, and from Thai longstick to European chopstick, modern artists use traditional techniques outside the traditional environment. Artists include the Scandanavian school exemplified by Colin Dale, and the first titled female artist working with Samoan hand-tap, Su'a Sulu'ape Angela, as well as Polynesian work done by Thai bamboo, and Buddhist sacred geometry, effected by chopstick in Newcastle, England.
