Plowing the Fields Devotional: A Guide to Praying for the Lost

Jesus spoke of the seed of God's Word falling upon different kinds of soil. Where the soil was good and receptive, the seed grew and produced a harvest. But where the soil was covered with weeds or was rocky, God's Word was choked out or stolen away.

Every person in our lives has a heart like that soil: it is either receptive to God's Word or resistant to it. But what do we do when our friend or loved one has a hard heart toward God—a heart that stops the harvest? We must rely on the Lord of the harvest to soften the heart. And we must plow the fields in prayer.
