Tinnitus: A Guide for Sufferers and Professionals

Recent data suggest that at one time or another some 15 per cent of the population suffer from tinnitus for several minutes. While for many this causes only minor annoyance, for some 1-2 per cent of the population it is a severe, but little understood condition. This book is designed for both sufferers, their families and all professionals concerned with hearing problems. It is written in non-technical language, but makes full reference to the research literature. It draws on a survey of tinnitus sufferers recently conducted by the authors and evaluates treatment strategies such as the use of maskers.
