Needlepoint Cats

Calling all cat lovers! Prolific needlework designer Julie Hasler combines two of her favorite obsessions to produce a gallery of gorgeous needlepoint patterns depicting cats of many breeds in all their glory. Tabbies, Persians, Siamese, Angoras, and Oriental shorthairs cavort over cushions, door stops, wall hangings, bell pulls, greeting cards, trinket boxes, place mats--even a rug and a Christmas stocking. The beautiful full-color charts and accompanying photos capture the many moods of the feline persuasion at play and at rest, with well-chosen backgrounds to set off their colors, markings, and personalities. All the designs are worked in basic tent stitch, though the high level of detail necessitates some degree of needlework experience. All the grace and charm that makes cats so endearing shines through these striking designs. --Amy Handy
