Love Is Strong As Death

At the age of ninety, Dennis Tierney looks back over his life and his relationship with Janet Charpentier. Set in Connecticut, the story follows these two characters over the course of their lives. Since Dennis was a Catholic priest for a number of years, the story describes the Catholic culture as it evolved in America during the Twentieth Century. Love is Strong as Death is a tale of the power of love to enrich human lives. In one sense, Dennis and Janet are “old fashioned,” living by values that today may seem quaint. However, with the light given to them by their religion and the time in which they lived, they are believable, appealing, and inspiring.
