Sensor Materials (Series in Sensors)

Because artificial sensors have assumed a major role in both domestic and industrial settings, the development of new technologies continues. Sensor Materials is the first publication that approaches the subject of sensors from a materials standpoint and provides a global overview of the field in a single, compact, and accessible volume.

Introductory chapters present a solid introduction to the classification of sensors and the various properties of materials used in sensing. The subsequent chapters deal with specific areas of sensor materials, including metal, semiconductor, dielectric, solid electrolytic, magnetic, fiber optics, radiant, and biological materials. In addition, there is substantial bibliographic information that provides a source of published research literature for each sensor.
