The Block: A Brooklyn Story is about the author's experiences growing up in Brooklyn, New York, between the years 1969 and 1990. The book relates to the many people the author grew up with and the things that went on in the neighborhood.The book also tells the author's views on topics like sports, movies, television, and food. There is one or two four-letter words contained, but in each case, the author included those words not to offend or to be obscene, but to drive some points home and present his past honestly.
