Hot Pursuit: Murder in Mississippi

As a 5th grade teacher, I am constantly looking for books that are interesting for my students and teach them as well. Hot Pursuit is an OUTSTANDING book to teach the difficult subject of the Civil Rights Movement. The story completely captured my students' attention, and while it was very sad, the book created an excellent discussion about doing what is right even if the consequences are unknown. As a teacher I appreciate that Cohon and Deutch are willing to tackle these subjects for young readers.
