African American Art 2012 Calendar

For more than two centuries African Americans have contributed to the rich history of art in the United States. This calendar celebrates that participation, exploring the variety of styles and media employed by twelve black American artists—Charles Ethan Porter, Beauford Delaney, William H. Johnson, Charles Alston, Hughie Lee-Smith, Alma Thomas, Romare Bearden, Benny Andrews, Charles White, William E. Scott, Hale Woodruff, and Betye Saar. The vibrant images presented here reveal inspiration from a range of sources: jazz and blues, country roads, the toil of laborers, everyday life, and the art of Europe and Africa.
